We recommend that you dry clean your suit for best results. But you can also wash it at home in a regular washing machine. Wash the suit inside-out, make sure the zippers and Velcro straps are closed so that they do not destroy the overalls in the machine. Wash it in fine wash in cold water (up to 30 degrees).
Can you put a race suit in the dryer?
Please make sure that the belt and collar are closed on the suit, to prevent the velcro from causing damage to the nomex fabric. Woolite soap is recommended as it is a non-abrasive detergent. DO NOT use bleach or anything similar. When drying the suit, always let the suit drip dry, indoors (out of the sunlight).
Can you wash a Nomex racing suit?
It’s also okay to machine wash Nomex suits on a delicate cycle in lukewarm or cold water. Make sure to close all your zippers, and fasten the Velcro closures with a stainless steel safety pin to avoid damaging the material. DuPont advises against using ordinary soaps containing acids or alkalis on Nomex material.
